Improvement of impression accuracy in the transition from provisional restoration to definitive restoration is critical to tissue esthetics and health. This pivotal step will define abutment contours (and cement lines) developed by the technical team. Techniques used to accurately record tissue form in implant sites and intervening pontic areas will be reviewed. Specifics relating to closed and open-tray impressions will be illustrated both didactically and clinically.
