Objectives

Restoratively-driven implant placement will be emphasized in this module. Emphasis will be placed on aesthetic zone treatment, illustrating correct 3D placement to guide hard and soft tissue healing. The impact of positional errors will be demonstrated in a lecture-style presentation, along with the appropriate management strategies to deal with both subtle and significant aesthetic complications associated with positional errors. Surgical guide design to define implant positioning will be presented. This module will explore:

  • Implant size selection;
  • Use of stereolithographic vs. conventional guides;
  • Aesthetics-defined single and adjacent implant position decisions.
